I pursued a career in law because I wanted to be able to help people and make a difference. I live in Clitheroe with my Husband Graham and family life is extremely important to me.
I studied Law at Hull University, graduating in 2003 and completing my Legal Practise Court at the College of Law in York. After a short period of time inter railing around Europe I became a paralegal and then a Trainee Solicitor in Oldham, where I qualified as a Solicitor in 2007. In 2009 I moved my work closer to my home and practised in East Lancashire both as a Solicitor and a Partner until I became a Consultant Solicitor in 2018.
I have experience in a wide variety of areas of law, including Wills & Probate, Powers of Attorney, family law; and conveyancing.
LLB (Hons) 15 years experience, regulated by the Law Society, over 21,000 hours under my belt.
I left private practise and became a consultant solicitor to give me the flexibility to spend time with my loved ones, do the things I enjoy and allow my caring personality and legal skills shine to make a difference to people when they need it most. I have always been a practical lawyer offering straight forward legal advice without legal jargon.
So, what is a Consultant Solicitor? I am a self-employed Solicitor. I work from home. I find my own clients, I set my own prices, but I have the backing of a Lexel accredited firm not only to ensure that your matter is insured properly and properly regulated by the Law Society and Solicitors Regulation Authority, but to allow me to use all the recourses you would expect in a large firm and keep fully up to date with any changes in law, whilst still delivering the personal service which I pride myself on.
My motto is work hard play hard. Outside of the law, I will usually be found on my bike, at Yoga, at the gym or on holiday! I love a challenge having cycled up the Tourmalet twice!
